| partners | | The first of our hikes from our girls trip to New Mexico! Originally we were planning to leave on Thursday morning, but due to 45-55 mph winds (ouch, sand facial), we ended up changing it up and departed from Scottsdale at ~6am Friday. We found a nice campsite then got right to hiking.
We had a ton of pins of different rock formations we wanted to see so just kinda wandered around with a loose plan. There are interesting things to see pretty much everywhere so you really can’t go wrong.
The highlight for me was all the petrified wood, especially the giant log sitting on top of some hoodoos! The cracked eggs were super unique as well and we saw a handful of photographers at that section waiting for the perfect lighting to capture the eggs.
We wandered until we had our fill then headed back to finish getting camp set up before it was dark. Great preview of what was to come on our next hikes! |
