I turned off of Highway 93 on Big Wash Road and drove about 12 miles to the TH -- the drive was about 45 minutes each way. Good tires was more important than clearance on the drive. Big Wash Road makes a loop, and it is better to take the north end of the loop off of 93.
The Cherum Peak Trail is well-maintained and well marked -- it was really nice hiking on it. Just below the summit there was a little bit of easy class 2 scrambling -- maybe about 25 feet vertical.
It was a foggy and cloudy day, which unfortunately limited the views. The clouds broke up a little bit to the north while I was on the summit, so I got to enjoy the views in that direction.
This was an enjoyable, relatively easy hike and I wouldn't mind doing it again sometime -- preferably on a clear day. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated There was some Gooding's Verbena at the lower part of the trail, but that was about it for flowers. |
