| no partners | | It was another day, and another hike to Mount Ord.
There was a decent wildflower showing within about 3 miles or so of the trailhead, which made that part of the hike nicer than normal.
This time I went down and back out of the trench that has formed across the road about half-way up FR 27. It looked like someone had dug out a couple of footholds in the sides of the trench, and I had no trouble getting out of it.
The parking lot at the Slate Creek TH is starting to look like a trash dump -- there is litter everywhere. When I go to the TH about 7AM a couple of people were sleeping in their car -- a sign of the times I guess. |

Wildflowers Observation Moderate Wildflowers were decent within 3 miles or so of the TH, highlighted by Gooding's verbena and western wallflower. |
