| no partners | | I decided to stick close to home today and get in some miles while checking out the wildflowers in this area of the McDowells, which is a bit north of my McDowells hike a couple of days ago.
In general, the wildflowers here were not as nice as they are just a few miles to the south.
It was a nice day to be out, and I only saw one person until I got back to within a mile or so of the TH.
There has been some recent trail maintenance on the trails in the Scottsdale Preserve, which was nice to see. In particular, the Bell Pass Trail was much less rocky than it was in the past. Some dirt had been dumped in several places on the Prospector Trail and in a few places on the Windmill Trail. In the summer I hike a good bit on the Prospector and Bell Pass Trail, and I appreciate the attention that the Preserve has given these trails. |

Wildflowers Observation Light There were lots of different flowers to be seen, but other than brittlebush the showing was very isolated. |
