| no partners | | As an ancient philosopher once said: "Two Ords are better than one"!
With that in mind, I decided to hike both Mount Ord and Little Mount Ord today.
I went up to Mount Ord from the Slate Creek TH, and then when I got back down to the locked gate, I went off-trail down to FR 1688, and from there I went to Little Mount Ord, and made a short off-trail ascent of it. Then I took 1688 to FR 626, and had to go uphill for about a mile to get back to FR 27, which I took back to the TH.
It was a nice day out there, but there was no escaping the afternoon sun. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated Gooding's verbena was the wildflower champ today, with western wallflower coming in a distant second place. |
