I would have to describe this hike as a tease, especially driving down the last mile and all of a sudden seeing this ribbon of lush spring green along the river valley. I almost thought this might be like Aravaipa! Not! I hiked a little beyond the 4th crossing and 95% of the time the trail was not near the creek, nor even in the shade under all the cottonwoods that lined the banks. Crossings were uneventful, with only the first crossing thigh deep. The surrounding cliffs and mountains were scenic, but couldn't offset my disappointment with how dry and exposed the trail was. Why the trail was sited the way it was is a mystery. For me, this trail is not worthy of a repeat, though I'm glad I at least checked it out
