| no partners | | | It is hard to find a more scenic hike in the Valley especially this time of year when the wildflowers are in their splendor, numerous and all along the trail and slopes. The poppies were numerous and their happy faces defied one not to smile. Even without the wildflowers, the vegetation is more lush than most Valley trails and of course the healthy mature Saguaro's just add to the beauty. The trail has continuous ups & downs, so one gets a reasonable workout. With the lake and the surrounding mountains, it is wall-wall scenic wonderland. Today, the puffy white cumulus clouds against the blue blue sky, just made for many Kodak moments. Even more surprising, a Saturday with perfect weather with spring wildflowers, and might have passed only a handful of people - go figure! |

Wildflowers Observation Extreme
Maybe at peak. Almost continuous wildflowers in bloom along trail, especially first half. Poppies are numerous along trail, though no huge large patches. |
