After locking up bike took some trails upriver until I saw the dam, then put in right above some rapids. Made for an exciting, if chilly, start.
"Upper" section of river this time. The rapids felt more rapid-y, the flat sections were more flat. After the first remarkable section of cliffs the shoreline felt tedious, especially with the rattle of cars going over the speed bumps on the nearby road buzzing every minute or two. Think I like the Pebble Beach -> Phon D section the best. Wildlife was less today, only two bands of horses, one mule deer, and some buzzards hanging out at Pebble. Last hour felt pretty hot, and I should have dunked, but I had forgotten a towel or change of clothes in the jeep so I just cooked. Stopped by to make fun of my sister on the way home. |
