| partners | | We were camping in the area so I scanned the map for places I haven't previously explored.
We started down the grassy Long Draw, turned left down General and splashed through the creek down to the lake, where I knew the level (6,696) was just below the B-C crossing. From here we headed up Bear before veering into Quien Sabe. Fred brought us across to Houston. A quick break at the guard station before heading downstream back to the lake. This would be tough with higher water as the canyon tightens up considerably right at the confluence. We were able to scramble up the hillside.
I took a refreshing dip in the lake before climbing the hill up to Telephone Ridge. We finished up by returning to 123 via Rock Crossing C and B. We had set up a shuttle to save a couple of miles of road walk.
Eagle took off and I headed down the north side of B to meet up with the others for a little bit of lake time. A couple of groups camped along the shore gathered firewood as I floated, because obviously they just don't gaf about the place.
Besides that, another great day in rim canyons. |
