We decided to head for the hills and spend a weekend on a short easy backpack adventure. It's nice to carry all the necessities on your back sometimes and this one is a pleasant option.

It was windy and cold at our start on the ridge, and though the breeze subsided in the evening, the temp dropped to a brisk 26 overnight. During the day we had sauntered downstream after setting up camp and encountered a couple of folks trying their luck at catching a meal. Trout grilled over the fire is always delicious and tonight was no different.

To take a bite out of the morning chill we spent a few hours exploring upstream before returning to camp to pack up and head back to the truck. On the drive out we stopped to extinguish an abandoned campfire. Such things don't even surprise me anymore.
