| partners | | I've had this one on the list for a while but finally the temps and water flow aligned on an open day. Lots of canyons drain into the Salt River along its course and this is a fun one to explore.
There was a light flow that might have been avoidable, but over the course of a handful of miles it just doesn't make sense not to splish splash. The cottonwoods have leafed out and the canyon was full of that bright spring green.
We were both equipped for floating but ended up never getting into water so deep as to require it. All the breaths were saved!
Saw a tortoise, a couple of zone tail hawks, and a bighorn mom with a lil'un.
FS or probably a more powerful utility did some impressive work on the flood damaged road. Makes it comical that the highway will stay closed forever. Not complaining though! |
