Coworker decided to hike off trail again. With his Gopro.
We managed to drive right on top of the cliff. I would have preferred to park at the base and head up through a break but there have been a lot of people coming across that way.
We headed to the outcropping to the South. This ends up being the North ridge of Walker Canyon.
I have no way of writing how to get to the balanced rocks. They are well hidden. But you can easily see the cave where we rested in the shade from the truck.
We checked out the clifftop tank past the truck too.
Rangers blocked the road while we were out there. They were observing the Tonto fire. It seems to be winding down.
After this we drove to the border wall road. BM 128 is missing. They excavated too close to it and the cliff they made collapsed. I'm glad I hiked to this border marker before the wall was installed. |
