| no partners | | I was on my way to Utah and decided to stop off at the Mesa Verde National park and drive up to the Park Point Lookout (elevation of 8,571 feet and prominence of 1,611 feet), which is the highpoint of the park. There is a paved road all the way to a parking area a short distance from the summit, which has a fire lookout cabin on it (which is still being used during the summertime).
There are great views at the top, so I am glad that I stopped. All of the high elevation peaks in Colorado have snow on them right now.
This was my 10th national park highpoint. |
