| no partners | | | This was a nice August early morning hike from San Pedro Overlook along the Mount Lemmon Trail #18 to Mount Bigelow. Have never been on this trail so it was new to me. Great views from along Incinerator Ridge and Leopold Point. After the climb around Barnum Rock up from the overlook the trail is fairly level and pleasant walking. A little bit of a climb to Mount Bigelow but nothing strenuous. Along the way is the intersections for the Davis Spring Trail but from what I hear it is barely there anymore. From the small section I traveled on it I couldn't see much of a trail and gave up and turned around. Leopold Point is just a short jaunt off the trail so I headed up there. great views from the point. When I got home I looked up Leopold to find out who the heck he was, He was a naturalist. Great trail for the summer months of August and September in the morning before the monsoon storms build up. |
