| no partners | | My first hike in Arizona was the Peralta Trail back in the 1980s. I figured this would be a good hike to celebrate my 60th trip around the sun here on Earth.
I arrived about 730am and the lot was more than 1/2 full. I came across 4-5 groups on the way up and made my way to the Lone Pine. I had the place to myself for 15-20 minutes, but saw the multitude of hikers massing at Fremont Saddle and decided to head back down.
Lots of people coming up as I was going down. The weather was very pleasant all day. The lot was completely full when I arrived back. Lots of cars in the overflow lots as well. And, the usual circus at the Carney Springs TH, of course. High season in the Supes for sure.
Not many flowers up yet, only a couple of brittle bush blooms here and there. I was surprised to see a little water still flowing from pools near the bottom.
In spite of the large number of hikers this time of year, this trail is still one of my favorites. Can’t beat the views for sure. |
