I hiked this one not quite a year ago, but it hardly looked the same. I remember the whole trip as being one long boulder hop on mostly barren rock. This time the drainage is full of tall grass, and catclaw! What's with that stuff, anyway?! I don't recall dodging anything green last time, but I donated some blood here, today. I had some trouble actually finding the entrance to the tributary because the vegetation was over my head there and so thick it obscured the opening. The middle pool of the falls area was in deep shade and surrounded by tall green things like a swamp marsh so I didn't get any pictures of it. On a really bizarre note... there used to be a very tall tree growing just at the right edge of the upper pool, but it seems to have vanished without a trace! You can see it in a couple of my photos from last year. but in these photos, it is completely missing. Very strange...
