| no partners | | After getting chased off the lake by lightning I decided to find the next least safe place in a storm ... a metal mountaintop tower! 
The lookout was there, and swore that he mans the tower all summer, every summer, and has for 20+ years. Apparently I am really good at hitting his days off, because I hadn't met him before and can't recall ever seeing it manned. Oh well.
Views with the surrounding storms were amazing. Lightning struck about 2 miles away and we were mandatorily unwelcomed from the tower. Three fires yesterday were quickly extinguished after exploding the stricken tree. |
