Sunrise hike with Denny. Got started at 0500 and headed up the road. Warm, no breeze. Mormon Loop (now Javelina Canyon) had a wonderful breeze. Easy hike down National, with a nice sunrise. Finished up on Pima Wash. Lots of quail this morning. Noticed several recently fallen saguaros, where I emphasized my dislike of the smell of rotting saguaro—it’s one of the worst smells I can think of. Good to see Denny again, and as always, great conversation.
