| no partners | | Just me and Harlow again today. After deciding against my first hike choice due to logging in the area, I opted for this one as my backup. Got started a little before 1030, still 47 degrees and mostly cloudy. Trail was in beautiful shape. Crossing the creek was easy, then a moderate uphill walk. No views due to all the trees, but I knew that would be the case.
Made good time up to the road and the dog still seemed to have plenty of energy, so we kept going up to the summit. Road walk was easy, summit is a little dull, but the miles went by quickly. The hike back down was a piece of cake. 52 degrees when we finished.
Saw one biker and his dog, chatted (with the human)for a few minutes. Heard some turkeys, had to resist the urge to misidentify them as mountain lions based on youtube videos. Saw plenty of deer and elk tracks. |
