On our third day at Payson we hiked another section of the highline Trail to Horton Creek but this time from Tonto Creek. This hike was 9.1 miles round trip. I told Ginny it was 3 to 3.5 miles in but turned out to be more like 4.5, oops. Not quite as steep as yesterdays hike. Beautiful scenery the whole hike with temps in the 70’s. A little bit stiff from yesterday’s hike but after a mile or so loosened up. We didn’t see anyone along the trail except at Horton Spring. Headed back to Payson and after Ginny soaked in the tub we headed over to Chili’s for dinner. We had the left overs from Chili’s for breakfast the next morning.

Tonto Creek had a good flow and there was a light flow in Dick Williams Creek. Great hike with no one on the trail, saw a few people at Horton Spring along with the people we met yesterday on the Horton Trail, they were camping by the falls.
