Just a nice little training hike to Tom's Thumb with 20lbs in my pack. Met a McDowell Sonoran Steward (Daryll) and we talked briefly. They are cutting new access trails into Tom's Thumb. The new trails look like expressways not trails. Sure looks like it's going to change the character of this hike. The climb up the ravine is my favorite part of the hike. But I guess they are anticipating access issues from the current parking area.
