The trail then begins a gradual ascent, with stunning views of Grinnell Lake below and looking back at the 2 other lakes from above. Saw some mule deer, many birds, and some mountain goats at a distance, but no moose. We were really hoping to see some moose on our last day in Glacier NP, but they did not make an appearance. The waterfalls flowing down Grinnell mountain were impressive.
At the top, we walked and climbed around the glacier and the glacial lake. There were about 100 people up there, enjoying the beautiful day and amazing views, but there was enough room for everyone. The views were just as impressive on the way back down, as the day gradually warmed up, but still no moose. Overall an excellent day. |
