| no partners | | We went looking for fall colors, and were not disappointed. We took the last open parking spot at the trailhead. Many people were within 200 yards of the trailhead, taking in the fall ambiance. The colors were sporadic during the first mile, with a mix of green, yellow, and orange. The See Spring trail had scattered clusters of maples with vibrant colors. We then returned to the See Canyon Trail, and the colors became more impressive as we ascended. Some areas were fully saturated, with brilliant red, orange, and yellow leaves permeating the trees as well as carpeting the ground. We had to turn around before we reached the top, as we had to return to Phoenix early for other obligations. We definitely were pleased with the abundance of color. The creek was flowing nicely. There were 3 easy creek crossings each way.
There were numerous people (and dogs) along the first mile and throughout the See Spring trail, with occasional trash (including used dog poop bags along the trail). Beyond the intersection of the See Canyon and See Spring trails, we saw only 2 other groups of people. |
