The trail passes through a pleasant pine forest with bountiful shade and frequent views of the Grand Canyon, ending in the outstanding vista at Widforss point. We took a lot of little detours to view the canyon from different angles and climb around. There were millions of non-biting insects buzzing around, and I inadvertently breathed in a few of them. Very few people out there today. Numerous beautiful views of the canyon, thick pines along the trail, and pockets of wildflowers in full bloom. On the way out, we stopped to watch a herd of bison that were crossing the road. I didn't know there were bison in Arizona. |
