| no partners | | I'd never done this one and it's a little short for the drive so without linking it up with some other stuff it never made sense. But I was able to get out of work with a few hours of afternoon daylight remaining and this seemed to be a good option to take advantage of the clearing storm.
I did the peak as a loop, going up the east ridge. This is a fun scramble adventure and the definition of joy. On the way down I took the west descent and long traverse across the south face. This route must be on allfails or something because it's 100% a real trail and gets waaaaaay more use than the fun east ridge route. Meh. The other side was more fun with better views with mind-stimulating adventure.
The top was muddy and some thunder rumbled as a couple of light hail showers pelted me. Long and Alder must have been running good off the 4peaks into Apache and SRP had to have the dam open because the turbid water was coming down from above Fish Creek and heading downstream(lake). Fun day! |
