I totally underestimated how cool this hike is. It’s been on the periphery of my to do list for some time, but I anticipated that it would be a hike with a cool destination, but just a mediocre grind to get there. Boy, was I wrong.

The entirety of this hike is filled with gorgeous panoramic vistas of all of the coolest parts of the superstition wilderness. It is definitely going on my list of favorite winter time hikes.

On the way out, we followed the route from HAZ; on the way back, we made a loop, following the all trails route. Definitely recommend doing this loop. After the first couple of miles, having a GPS route downloaded is very handy.

The recent rains had the desert popping, and also made for some lovely clouds to highlight the photos, as well as offering snow-covered views of the four peaks.

The road to the trailhead is fine for sedans. We started a little bit later in the morning, and found five or six cars at the trailhead.

A five star hike!
