| no partners | | I completed the "A" Mountain Challenge. The challenge started mid March and Ran through the end of April. I just thought it would be fun to do. Hayden Butte is close to my house and do it often anyway, especially on days when I need something quick. The first 2 weeks I did it casually getting 6 climbs in. Then as I was logging them, I realized there was a goal of 40. So I really picked up the pace. I started doing 2 climbs each trip and 3 climbs on one trip. I finished with more than a week to spare. Got 5 more in there before the end so I totaled 45 climbs on that goal of 40.
This was a lot fun, more than I thought it would be. I could obviously just go do this whenever, but having the goal set and a time limit really motivated me. I did it in the rain, I did it when it was 95*, I did it while the Pat's run was happening. I missed out on doing it after dark though. I also saw a chuckwalla, surprised they exist given its urban land locked status. This cost $25, but I got a T shirt and earned 3 gift cards, oh and the city of Tempe got probably another $25 in parking meter fees. |
