| partners | | On our last day in Payson we headed up the rim again this time to the Maxwell Trail along Lake Mary Road. Long muddy drive to the trailhead. Steep 1 mile hike to the creek. Good flow in the creek with the water being cool but not cold. No one on the trail nor the road drive in or out. Spent about an hour in the canyon before heading out. Soaked our shirts in water before heading up, temps were in the 90's, at least in the sun. on our drive back to Payson you could see the 4th of July travelers were out in number. Payson was a zoo. Ate at the El Rancho Mexican Restaurant both nights there, best Mexican food in town or a lot of other places for that matter. |
