| no partners | | I had been wanting to hike up to Peak 2881, and since I had never been to Horns of a Dilemma I figured that I would go there also. Rather than doing an out-and-back we made a loop out of it by coming back on Willow Creek.
We did the loop clockwise.
We followed a pretty decent use trail up to Peak 2881. The scenery was nice and this portion of the hike was enjoyable, and I would do this segment again.
We then made our way to the Horns, by first following a ridgeline, then picking up a good trail for a ways, and then more-or-less bushwhacking to the Horns. Views were nice on this section also so I enjoyed this portion.
From the Horns we followed a decent use trail over to Willow Creek, which we took back to the trailhead. I did not like hiking in Willow Creek at all --- walking 3+ miles in a dry creek bed isn't my thing and I thought this section was boring. We had to get out of the creek 2-3 times to bypass some dryfalls.
We eventually slogged our way back to the TH.
I enjoyed the first half of this hike; the second half not so much. |
