| no partners | | I decided to vary my typical Mount Ord hike today by going to 2 peaks:
1) Mount Ord
2) Little Mount Ord
I started and ended at the 626 TH. I took the normal route up to Mount Ord, but on the way back once I got to the locked gate I descended off-trail down to FR 1688. Then I took 1688 to a saddle SE of Little Mount Ord, and from there went off-trail to the summit of Little Mount Ord. Then I went back to the saddle, took FR 1688 to FR 626, and then went on FR 626 back to the TH. This was basically a CW loop with side trips to the two Ords.
It was a bit brushy on the lower part of the descent from the locked gate down to FR 1688, and there was some low brush on the way up to Little Mount Ord.
It was a windy day which made the temperatures feel cooler than they actually were. In fact, it was downright cold for most of the hike.
Synopsis
Two Ords are better than one. |
