| no partners | | Been wanting to hike up here for a while and finally found the time to do it today. There are three geocaches that I wanted to find up there, one at the NW false summit, the other at the true summit, and the last on the NE false summit. Parked near FR 151E and started up the NE false summit. There's no marked trails leading up and barely any game trails. This combined with the large amount of deadfall everywhere made this a bit challenging. There was really no way to avoid it, so I just had to figure out the best path up that required the least amount of climbing and scrambling over. After 30ish minutes of struggle, I made it to the false summit. Found the first geocache after some searching and continued on. Went down into the saddle then back up to the summit, while of course having to navigate more deadfall and trees. Once at the top I found the second geocache then enjoyed a nice walk to the NE false summit. Along the way I saw a fence that crosses the hills, though it's not doing its job well as most of it had been crushed by fallen tree branches and debris. There was a gate for the fence at the top and what seemed to look like a really faint road, though that can't be right as there's no way for any vehicle to get up here. Eventually made it to the second false summit, which is actually quite high, in fact it's only 20' lower than the true summit. Found the last geocache up here and headed back down. While going down is usually easier than going up, the amount of deadfall and debris I had to navigate made it a pain in the rear. I did make it back down and only ended on my butt one time. Walked back to where I left the truck and headed home.
