| no partners | | | Hiked up Sitgreaves Mountain again, three days since I last hiked it to replace the geocache at the summit. I had originally made an on-the-fly replacement using a Nalgene bottle, but decided to haul up a nice .50 cal metal ammo can to serve as the replacement cache and get my water bottle back. Even thought I was carrying a large ammo can in my left hand the whole time up, I still made it to the summit in 80 minutes (including time spent on short breaks). Also put the summit log in the ammo can since there was room and I didn't see why I should leave it out since the cache and the summit log were both at the highest point near the survey marker. Also saw Reference Mark 1 which I missed on my first ascent, though I failed to find Reference Mark 2 and the NGS database seems to indicate that it went missing / destroyed sometime in the 1960s. |
