Second stop on our journey through the Petrified Forest. Short paved loop that offers a great way to see numerous petrified logs with little effort. Did the lasso going CCW. There was a mini loop within the larger loop. The connector between the two loops was maybe .1 miles (very small loop). There was a ramada with an info board at the juncture of the mini loop. One neat thing at this location…as we were coming around the western side of the loop we came across what looked to be hundreds of wood chips, (seriously, you’d think there was a sawmill in the area)….all petrified. Pretty neat.
