Hiked again with hopes of getting enough data for a trail description. This trail is a treat. Easy to get to. A decent single track that plays well with the landscape and a stream crossing near the end. I do have one trouble spot. The beginning of the trail is well marked and the trail is easy to follow, but I am a little unsure where the trail “officially” ends. An obvious spot (in my opinion) would be at the stream crossing. The trail “T”’s at that point without signage. Turning left, creates the loop and .3 miles later, there is another carsonite marker (504), indicating the Copper Falls Trail. It seems an odd place to end the trail. There is still a mile hike along the Camp Verde Trail (545) to get back to the TH. This is not the first time I’ve scratched my head over trail alignments. Not sure why I over it. Temps were great in the 50’s. Had the trails to myself. No wildlife, (except cows). |
