Cooool hike. I can't wait to do this one again in the fall because there are a lot of maples, oaks, and even a few (very few) aspens on top of the rim. Road in is easily passable by a passenger car at least if it's dry.
Lots of mosquitoes, and it was a little muggy. Storms were rolling in as we left around 3 p.m. I was shocked at how many people were forest camping on top of the rim.
My only complaint is that I wished this trail were a little longer. Perhaps next time I'll go on the Highline a little ways past its junction w/ the Drew Trail.
