We parked at the cross-f TH. This is the only Mazatzal TH that's right off of blacktop. The morning temps were very cold. I saw frost on the ground! Our route for the day was: -Little saddle mountain trail
-Saddle Mount trail to the Story mine
-old cabin/the creek bed down to the Sunflower Mercury mine complex
-FR25a to FR25 to the Mormon grove TH
-Little Saddle mountain trail back to the car
As we started, we saw the AZT crew cleaning up the cross-f TH. The creek bed was dry and that made it easier to go down it. The falls colors were out in full going down the creek bed. It was a fun and strenuous hike.
