Especially so when it is thought to be an unpublished ruins site that very few have had the opportunity to ever see, visit, and explore. Such was my lucky day today to join Eric(ssk44) on a return visit to this, his 12/19/09 special ruins find (see his original triplog.. http://hikearizona.com/TL.php?ID=48027 )
The ancient ones who occupied this most difficult to reach ruins site obviously wanted to "sleep well at night" as there appears to be only difficult ways up and down to/from the main butte top dwelling areas. I was pushing my limits (both physically & mentally) on successfully reaching this high exposure site, but with Eric's excellent off trail and remote route finding ability, I was guided up and back down successfully with only one spree fall slide on the way back down.
T-hank-S again Eric for sharing your special find with me, the good company, a fun/rewarding day and topped-off with an excellent local restaurant dinner meal.
Note: By us (Eric and me) this ruins site hike description will remain generic to help protect it.. without a specific location, driving directions, and without a posted GPS Route. Because of the remoteness and difficulty in reaching this ruins site by even those most interested, Eric and I did agree that in my pic set for this triplog that I could safely post some additional pics of this site showing the near and far surrounding areas. |
