Christmas Week'09 under Byous Butte

Seven of us over this holiday week 12/23 to 12/28 (5nts/6days) enjoyed the backdrop of Byous Butte as we enjoyed sunny blue sky days for hiking, our festive-decorated campsite, R&R, good meals, good friendship, and a few cold nights and mornings with a warm campfire.

HAZ(gpsjoe) joined me this Christmas Eve day for an enjoyable hike up my now completed off-trail cairned route to what I call Byous Butte Saddle#1 and Saddle#2 (please see my pic sets and GPS route for all details). I do hope more HAZers will now consider hiking this newly completed route which opens up a whole new remote area to do more off trail exploring in this most scenic area around-behind Byous Butte and the rugged Hewitt Ridge area.
