A good workout hike. Lots of ppl on th Mormon trail but National and Javelina trails, we pretty much had to ourselves. The desert look SO dry. Sad to see it. We stopped by the petroglyph panel and watch two rather ferocious squirrels duke it out...not sure what the prize was. Followed up with lunch at The Farm serenaded by birds in their garden.

Last minute sign up with Susan to walk the 10K. We had an absolutely fun walk on streets giving us time to enjoy the views (roads are blocked!) and participate in race spirit. Well run event -- beautiful 10K finisher medal to boot. Signed up for next year's 25th edition

Loop hike to get some miles in to train for Lost Dutchman 10k in a few weeks. It was on the warm side for this time of the year. Desert looks parched...

Great morning hike with a bit of workout. Tracy and Shawn met me at TH and we made a loop of it with Bursera trail and Gila trail. The hike up Bursera canyon afforded us up close views the Bursera Microphylla trees (2-3 good sized ones) also known as Elephant tree. Other than that no much by way of plant or critters....just not that time of year. Trail is well marked, undulating and a bit rocky. Couple of good climbs bout than that easy walking.

Short hike in Usery Park. It's was a good loop for a post lunch walk with Angela. We did encounter a rather brave squirrel and cactus wren that came up close to check us out....probably looking for hand outs!

Catch up section AZT...needed to finish up about 2.5 miles or so so we made it a short in and out. I had some heat issues several years ago so bailed on last 2-3 miles of what should have been a relatively short hike. October some times surprises with its heat - sneaks uo on you!. Now we are caught up.

Easy lollipop loop hike right out of Hannegan Meadows Lodge. Easy to follow trail along a combination of 2 track and some roads makes for a nice hike.

Back to Glacier National Park after several years -- this is a wonderful hike to get warmed up for our upcoming backpack in the Belly River Area. We lucked out finding parking easily this day! This is a very popular hike in the area, and it was crowded. That said, we still had a marvelous time on the trail, our hiking poles made it a lot easier to say upright as we made our way across icy snowbanks that still covered much of the trail. Early on we saw a huge expanse of glacier lilies! We were treated to some fine wildlife along the way as well - goats and sheep posed and went about their business. We dawdled a bit at the overlook, still icy down at the lake and the views were magnificent. We made our way back, again distracted by the views and more lily fields

Last minute hike with Guru and Mandie. Thanks Susan Harnage for the tip off....the brittle bush bloom was brilliant! Hiking up at sunset is beautiful ... wonderful light show on yhe cliffs and all the yellow blooms were glowing. A tad on warm side when we started but a cool breeze made it quite nice. Not too much traffic on trail made it a nice experience. Upper end if loop was a tad hard on my 15 yr old Golden girl but she did OK. Long views of 4peaks...little 4peaks and Goldfields make for stunning scenics. Great short loop trail for an evening hike!

:y: I hiked in 2022 finally! Thanks Angela for being patient with me ambling along with my short "******" legs! We made it to the top to some stunning views. What sticks in my mind is the beautiful large multiarmed saguaros, superlong views, the scramble (Glad I had the gloves) and the wonderful company in Angela -- it was a long time since we had a good hike & camp!

After the 1st saddle the views were great on the backside ....when I had the gumption to look around :) The tread here could use some help in sections - sketchy for the casual hiker for sure. There is a lot of cabled sections - more than I expected. Generally slow go especially if you get caught behind a big group naviating the cabled areas.

All in all - great hike. I'd do it again

We did some beautful flowers that looked like an orchid close to the cliff face. That was a new flower to me. What was sad was the micro poppies this year -- I have seen stunning blooms here in years past.

Quick jaunt through the Supes with Angela on a last minute hike for the long weekend. Lots of green, lots of water but no muck in the Garden Valley flats! The sounds of flowing water is always a delight in the desert!
