| no partners | | With the forecast only in the 90's I thought one more trip in the Superstitions would be good. I started out early (4:10a) and was the only vehicle at the trailhead. I used my headlamp for about 30 minutes and then it was light enough go without. I noticed some nice sized pools of water in La Barge Creek before Charlebois Canyon so there is water if you need it. It was still early when I reached Peter's Trail so I thought...Why not keep going? Once up on Peter's Mesa I found a chair in the shade and 3 full gallons of water. Someone is looking out for me. Thanks, but I didn't need the water and it was still nice out so I went over toward the area above Squaw Canyon. I found some spots were you could see both Weaver's Needle and Four Peaks, just for fun but there was no gold. I decided to take one more look into Deering Canyon since I was close and eventually made my way into Triangle Cave for shade. I was starting to warm up to I scrambled down Squaw Canyon this time. The upper part it steep and loose so it's not that fun going down but once I was on the Z trail it was fairly easy. I made a quick exit on Dutchman trail and was out before 2pm. |
