After enjoying the view at the Carr Peak saddle along Parker Creek Trail 160, we made our way back to the Carr Trail Head and on up FR487 to the summit of Aztec Peak.

Ranger Red was manning the lookout tower heading into the last week of the season. Friday 9/26 is the last day for Ranger Red and his dog Roper until next year when they start on 4/15.

Left Red some food and water as his Saturday grocery run was interrupted by transmission trouble and a tow into Globe. He could only manage a handful of groceries on his ride back to the lookout tower...
