| no partners | | Need exercise. I could run on the treadmill and watch the Sopranos, or, go hike on Graham. Easy choice. Wanting to catch some aspen color, I decided upon another Big Creek/High Peak Road loop. I went up the mostly aspen free Big Creek trail, then cut over to the old Graham ridge road for the hike down. The aspens on High Peak Road were at maximum color, with some even bare already. Fraley clouds floated overhead, and a gentle breeze stirred the chilly air. As the sun set, a thunderstorm came into view, and lightning flashed over the Winchester Mountains. I returned to my truck at dark, and witnessed a nice lightning show to the south for the entire drive down. Saw a fox, too.
It was an absolutely perfect evening. A common occurence in the Pinalenos. |
