After some photos we continued on the UBar to a cairned cutoff to the left leading down into the canyon. This appears to have been a game trail which has been adopted by the hiking community. We headed up canyon along a stream using a game trail. There were a couple of nice camp sites along the way as well as some blowdowns to negotiate around or over. We hung a left up Bill McClintock Draw to the intersection with the Barbershop Trail. Turning right here we followed it to N34 26.249 W111 10.136 and turned right off the Barbershop Trail onto an old road which we followed to a large cairn at N34 26.981 W111 09.814. We followed the cairned trail back down into Dane Canyon and then Dane Canyon downstream back to where we entered the canyon at the beginning and then back to the car.
This was a nice 7 mile loop hike in a beautiful area. Hank's familiarity and previous excursions in the area helped keep us on track. |
