| partners | | Just getting to log my trips from weeks past. This was a lazy Sunday spent exploring, climbing and socializing with friends. This was the second part of a rock climbers meetup in Sedona, I decided to join day 2 with Madison. She liked the boulder hopping and scrambling in this area and made friends with Liz immediately to have someone cool to emulate. (Moms are lowest on the kid cool scale) This marks the beginning of the winter season feeling for me, I was surprised at how cold that canyon was! As the sun ducked behind the cliffs, we made the best cragfire ever! This was the first time I have ever been able to warm my fingers by a fire, before getting on the cold rock. The integrity of the sport routes in this area are questionable I wouldn't recommend this area for climbing but it was fun area and pretty to see.
Jack said it well: This is to late starts, 25 mile death marches, rock hopping, new crags, holds that blow up in your hand, climbing hard, On sights, Camp fires, little girls with big rice crispies, melty-cheese and crackers, exploding hot rocks, melted back packs, speed hiking in the dark, smelling like smoke, living the life. What a great outing. http://www.meetup.com/rockclimbing-114/ ... /15380242/ |
