| no partners | | I missed my visit to this one last year. This time I called in sick to my dumb boss and played hooky at work on a Thursday. Son’s #2 and #3 came along.
The colors started right away with all of the wild grapes along the wash floor. The higher up we went, the nicer the colors.
We had good luck with the weather as it was cloudy/partly cloudy all day. They were moving fast, so the light and shadows were constantly changing.
The usual boulder-hopping, but no giant pools to navigate this year.
We hiked in a couple of miles and started back down.
It is always a treat to visit this place and the autum colors definitely cooperated too.
We noticed they have contructed some earthen steps made with railroad ties right next to the bridge too.
We came across 3 hikers near the start in the way out. Otherwise, we had the entire place to ourselves. That was a little different experience that we had at our next stop a the West Fork/Call it the Canyon circus. |
