| partners | | Although it had poured overnight the forecast called for thundershowers throughout and there was a threatening sky, not having many opportunities to hike lately we went ahead anyway. Good thing we did because it turned out to be a wonderful day for a hike. Hazy clouds kept it from being too hot (although very humid after overnight rains) during the climb on the Derrick Trail. A few off trail excursions added to both our distance and accumulated elevation totals.
On the return trip via Horton Creek trail I pretty much ignored the trail itself, spending 90% of the time walking in the creek itself. Definitely makes it worthwhile to be wearing Teva Terra-Fi sandals!
I not only took plenty of photos but over 30 minutes of video, mainly of the numerous small waterfalls along the return trip. I've got plenty of editing still to do before posting a few videos, but the photos are posted as noted below:
