Another beautiful day on the AZT.

Temps were perfect, wind was a howling.
The Trail was in great condition all the way around. From Grandview TH to where we crossed 180 by the park entrance, was not exciting at all, but was in the cool relaxing pines most of the way with gentle inclines. Quite a relaxing hike. Once you cross under 180 and turn North, the track is on a freshly cut road with no shade. Cross back over 180 again going to the east and you are once again in the tall cool pines. To this point we saw 7 - 12 Mule deer.

I can't think of a better way to end a relaxing hike, than to have the bottom drop out on you reaching the canyon on the way to the South Kaibab TH. How could one ever get sick of those views!

After a 45 minute delay so various emergency vehicles could clear 64 of a car the did a head on with a tree, we left the park heading out towards Cameron on the way back through Flag. We stopped at Moran Point to take in some views.

As always if was a humorous time with the Rat Pack!
