| partners | | Ahh,another chance to get out on the AZT with some good ol HAZers. The temps were great. It was windy and it felt good on a sweaty shirt. The trail went through some great Ponderosa's and grassy meadows.I saw more pine cones on this passage then any other so far.Lots of pine needles made for a great(soft) lunch break and it was hard not to hang out there all day.We saw a few deer on this hike and they looked nice and healthy. We crossed the main road to the Grand Canyon and the forest thinned out so we lost our shade for awhile.Once we crossed back over the forest thickened and our shade came back.It was a great hike through the pines. The end of this passage ends on the south rim of the Grand Canyon. What a way to finish a hike. The views were AWESOME!Another great outing on the AZT.Thanks to Joe,Dave and Bruce for another great outing!See you on the next one! |
