First time up in the autumn and the oaks were putting on a fine display of color. I wanted to cast aside the memories of the last two less than ideal trips up there, and did. This time it was just right, with no injuries or other problems for our group of seven. The visibility was excellent to make it even better. One of the things that was amazing is that we had 3 vehicles leaving from different places and taking different routes to the trailhead, yet we all arrived within 10 minutes of each other!
Did my favored routine by going up through Globe to Roosevelt Lake and El Oso Road (FR143) to the trailhead, then back down to the Beeline by continuing on FR143, and taking Bush Highway into east Mesa and catching the freeways for the return to Tucson. Maximum scenery assured. |
