| partners | | this hike is a favorite of both of us, so we headed for payson this morning
still a bit cool when we started hiking, but was quite comfortable all day
went more along the creek than i have before, probably two-thirds of the hike
took the time to explore the campsites, crossed the creek several times, checked out the various waterfalls and swimming holes
spent some time looking around and having lunch at the springs
i had never been to the upper spring
good water flow, and a little too cold to be jumping in
both log bridges have caved in since i was last there
decided at the last minute that we would try the highline-derrick loop on the return and set out on highline
had no idea how far derrick trail was, and kept thinking we had missed the trail
ended up turning around too soon
something for next time - didn't do the research as we didn't plan on this
the nice thing was that we were able to enjoy hiking near the creek again
i had never been on highline - only crossed it to do other trails
probably added three miles and a couple of hills to the hike
mileage and aeg are guestimates
no idea on moving time or breaks
that's when you know you had a good time just being out |
